First Lost Tooth!

It's been a while since I posted last.  It's been pretty crazy here and I hardly have time to clean my house let alone post something new on our blog.  But since I am addicted to "Lost" and will be staying up until 11:30 to watch the finale this evening I thought I might as well update our blog. :)
Trysten lost his first tooth last month.  It came as a surprise.  We didn't even know it was loose until I was brushing his teeth and noticed it looked a little gray.  It was really loose, already dead, and I figured he must have fallen and hit it or something since we hadn't noticed it being loose before.  So anyway we spent the evening trying to make him brave enough to pull it out.  I was afraid he would swallow it during the night so he finally gave in and let us pull it out.

We caught the Tooth Fairy sitting on his shoulder while he was sleeping and took a picture for him. :)  He thought that was pretty cool.  I got this done at www.icaughtthetoothfairy.com.  It's normally $9.99 but if you use the code fairy-proof at checkout it's free!  I wish I would have got a better picture of him (i just used my camera phone)  but oh well.

My middle child

If you know Gavin then you know that when he gets mad he gets REALLY MAD.  He yells and has a nasty mean face and tells you how it is.  I don't like it at all and I wish that he didn't have such an angry side to him. (he got that trait from his dad's side :) But sometimes when he gets so mad about funny things and you see his cute face all wrinkled up with fury you have to laugh a little.  Here is just one of many little outbursts that happened today:
Very mad Gavin: "Hey! Where's my diarrhea?"
Me: "What?"
Gavin: "WHERE'S MY DIARRHEA!!"
Me:  "What are you talking about??  Diarrhea??"
Gavin:  "Yeah, my blue diarrhea!  I wanted to eat it!!"
Me:  "Oh, your Daiquiri Ice?"
Gavin:  "Yeah!"
I tell him where his blue diarrhea went and then he's back to being goofy ol' Gavin again.

bUttErFliEs

We were putting the kids to bed the other night and I don't remember what we were talking about but Keith asked "What turns into butterflies?" Right away Trysten said "Raccoons!" He was actually thinking cocoon of course, but I didn't correct him. Sometimes I like to let adorable things like that happen just so I can hear him say it again and get a little giggle. Don't worry, I will tell him someday that Butterflies come from Caterpillars but for now Raccoons turn into Butterflies.
He sure makes me smile.

Wear your seatbelt!

You gotta watch this video. It is way cool. Makes you want to wear your seatbelt.  Although I already wear mine out of habit, but for those of you who don't maybe this will change your mind. ;)

Gavin Turns 3!

Gavin had his birthday on the 15th of March. He was so excited for his special day. We went out to eat at Round Table which is his and Trysten's favorite place to eat. Mostly because they have video games and super hero tattoos. He got some cool presents like Spiderman and a Transformer robot. I feel bad, we didn't get very many pictures of him and they ones we did get turned out blurry. But here's what we got.
Birthday Cake

Thumbs up!
The Birthday Monster Came!
Funny story: The Birthday Monster comes every year in middle of the night before their birthday to put balloons on their door so they will have a fun surprise when they wake up. :)
I was up at 4am feeding Kyson and all of a sudden I hear Trysten say "Gavin! Wake up! The Birthday Monster came!"
Oh dear.
Gavin wakes up and I hear them both talking excitedly but I can't make out what they are saying. Then they came out into the hall and I hear Trysten say "Let's take off the balloons!"
"No, No!" yells Gavin.
I am sitting in bed praying that this nice little middle of the night party will end soon and they will realize they need to go back to sleep.
Kyson is done eating, thank goodness, so I go into their room trying to think of a way to make them go back to sleep. How could they think of doing such a thing when they have just found what the Birthday Monster has left them?
Thank goodness my half awake mommy brain thought up something fast. I told them that it was the middle of the night and if they did not go back to bed then the Birthday Monster will come back and take everything down. I didn't think that was going to work but it did and they got their giddy little bums back in bed (telling me stories of the Birthday Monster while I tucked them back in) and surprisingly went back to sleep.
Dear Birthday Monster,
Next time it might be a good idea to close the door when you leave a nice little present for us.
Oh, and thank you for picking up Trysten off the floor when he fell out of bed. He told me all about that, and how you are orange with Tarheel blue spots all over and were all nice and hairy.
What a nice guy.

Kyson's Blessing Day

Kyson got blessed on Sunday March 7th, his two month birthday. He wore a sweet little sailor suit that was too big for him but he looked adorable anyway. I forgot to get pictures of him with his little hat but I will get one soon. We had family and friends over afterward for brunch and it was a lot of fun. It was a perfect, happy blessing day!

Poo Bribery

We are trying so hard to get Gavin potty trained. He is not ready. But we are trying. We are just so sick of changing his diapers for many reasons; 1. he will not let us change it until it is so incredibly full he is leaking out of it. 2. since he leaks out of it he gets pee on whatever thing he is sitting on (thank goodness we finally broke down and bought leather couches) 3. He pees out of his diaper at night (I cannot tell you how many times I have had to change the sheets in the past couple weeks) 4. His Crap (excuse my language) smells like as Trysten would say: "hair caught on fire with a rotten egg on top." I'm thinkin' it smells so bad because he drinks gallons of chocolate milk every week and the only food he will eat at meals are his vegetables. Strange child huh? :) Anyway, we decided to bribe him. So we told him that if he goes poop in the toilet we would get him a spiderman. Well, that worked really well! The next day he went poop right in the toilet and was so proud of himself! I jumped up and down and took pictures and we all rejoiced and gave him spiderman.
Has he gone since? NO. He doesn't understand that he has to KEEP ON going in the toilet. I guess if someone gave me a million dollars (that's what a "spiderman" would be for me) for cleaning the house I wouldn't clean the house ever again either. (I would get a maid) And it's not like we can buy him a toy every time he goes poop! Oh well, we tried. I guess bribing doesn't work every time does it. I will just have to deal with the stinky poo diaper changing until he is really ready.
